Rice Robotics is excited to announce a partnership with 7-Eleven Japan.

7-Eleven Japan will start pilot delivery services using self-driving robots (RICE) in January 2021. RICE will be deployed at a store at the new SoftBank Group headquarters in Tokyo Port City Takeshiba, where it will deliver items ordered online to SoftBank employees.

During this pilot, 7-Eleven Japan and Rice Robotics will work together to accumulate the knowledge of utilizing robots for larger-scale deployment in the future. Japan has more 7-Eleven locations than anywhere else in the world. Of the 67,480 stores around the globe, 20,700 stores (nearly 31% of total stores) are in Japan, with 2,705 stores in Tokyo alone.
