Asahi Breweries, Ltd. in collaboration with SoftBank Corp., announced that it will start verification for the commercialization of self-driving delivery services for soft drinks.
At the event "A little ahead of the interesting future 2023" (Chomoro) to be held in Tokyo on September 17th and 18th, "Mitsuya Cider" and "Asahi" ordered on a dedicated page using LINE for about 200 general visitors. We plan to verify whether the company's products such as "颯" can be delivered to the orderer by autonomously using the autonomous driving robot "Cuboid" developed by SoftBank.
Based on the results of the verification, a service that uses autonomous delivery robots as "moving vending machines" to deliver products to customers for people who are busy working in the office, visitors to large events, and local residents who have difficulty purchasing food and beverages. Aiming for commercialization.
In the future, we will also aim to contribute to the elimination of labor shortages by doing everything from replenishment to delivery to "moving vending machines" without human intervention.
In verifying this project, we will conduct test verification of Autonomous Driving delivery in the company's headquarters building from November to December 2022. For about 60 employees, we ordered products on our own desks and mobile phones, verified whether the ordered products would reach the employees who ordered them, and obtained high satisfaction from about 80% of the users.
